Habitat
Habitat is a flexible, scalable, build-it-yourself exhibition developed by Smithsonian Gardens. Habitat explores one big idea that protecting habitats protects life. It features twelve distinct thematic sections, which create a cohesive story that invites your audiences to look at your natural landscape in a new way. Habitat’s key messages are: Habitats are homes; Habitats are interconnected and fragile; Habitats need be protected. Habitat is perfect for arboretums, botanical gardens, nature centers, historic houses, and natural history museums. The exhibition includes InDesign files to produce rail-style panels and instructions to create five 3D elements. Habitat also includes a welcome panel, and customizable graphic templates to highlight institution’s unique habitats. Access to a full spectrum of educational and programming resources developed by Smithsonian Gardens and opportunities to engage with Smithsonian curators, scientists, and researchers.
