The Dubuque Museum of Art, the oldest cultural institution in the state of Iowa, was founded over 140 years ago as the Dubuque Art Association. Its permanent collection concentrates on 20th-century American art with an emphasis on American Regionalism. Collection highlights include works by noted Iowa Regionalist Grant Wood, the complete collection of Edward S. Curtis’s The North American Indian photogravures, and the oeuvre of Arthur Geisert, currently comprising over 900 etchings. DuMA became a Smithsonian Affiliate in 2016.
