Plimoth Patuxet Museums

Plymouth, Massachusetts

Plimoth Plantation's sites explore the complex and interwoven stories of English and Native cultures in the 17th century through engaging and experiential outdoor and indoor learning environments. Voted the Best History Museum and the Best Historical Site in New England, Plimoth Plantation includes a reconstructed 1627 Pilgrim Village, where costumed role players portray the Plymouth colonists (the "Pilgrims") in their daily lives. Modern-day Native staff practice and preserve traditional skills and share the history and culture of the Wampanoag People at the Hobbamock's Homesite. The Mayflower II, a full-scale reproduction of a 17th-century iconic ship, is on view in downtown Plymouth. Plimoth Plantation collaborates with the Smithsonian on programming that educates visitors from around the world about this transformative period in American history.
