The National World War II Museum tells the story of the American experience in World War II by celebrating the heroism and sacrifice the men and women who served on the battlefront and at home. The museum boasts a large collection of wartime bombers and aircraft, interactive exhibits and live commemorative programs. It is also home to the USS Tang submarine. The museum’s exhibition, From Barbed Wire to Battlefields: Japanese American Experiences in World War II, features 20 artifacts from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
