Affiliate Profile
Founded in 1975, The Mexican Museum highlights the aesthetic expression of the Mexican and Mexican American people. Through its art collections and programs, the museum explores the evolving scope of the Mexican, Chicano, and Latino experience. Since it became an Affiliate in 2011, the museum has partnered with the Smithsonian to develop programming. In addition, the museum’s director participated in the Latino Partnership Forum in 2013, meeting with other Affiliate leaders and Smithsonian staff to facilitate future collaborations.
