The Children's Museum of the Upstate (TCMU) sparks a lifelong passion for curiosity and learning through play. Its 18 exhibition galleries touch on the areas of arts and sciences, nutrition and health, and the environment. As a Smithsonian Affiliate, TCMU has participated in Smithsonian Institution’s nation-wide educational programs and hosted Innoskate, a public festival presented by the Lemelson Center of the National Museum of American History, celebrating invention and creativity in skate culture. The Museum is participating in the Youth Capture the Colorful Cosmos program, and in 2017 will open a Spark! Lab modeled after the original at the National Museum of American History.
