The Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts seeks to inspire woodworkers, artists, craftspeople, and collectors alike. It promotes excellence in craftsmanship by supporting artists while preserving the Maloof residence and workshop. The Foundation has had a long relationship with the Smithsonian; since 1971 furniture by Sam Maloof on loan from the Foundation has appeared at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Renwick Gallery.
