Affiliate Profile
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences features dinosaurs, whale skeletons, live animals, walk-through dioramas, special exhibitions, and other learning resources. Its Nature Research Center (NRC) allows visitors to play a hands-on role in new research and get a glimpse of scientists working in the four research laboratories. In addition, the museum offers distance learning programs, broadcasting lessons and virtual field trips to classrooms across the state. The museum’s status as a Smithsonian Affiliate allows it to collaborate with the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History on a regular basis.
