The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History is dedicated to exploring and celebrating the 360-plus-year history of Jews in America in its stunning building on Historic Independence Mall. Through its exhibitions, educational programs, and experiences, the Museum connects Jews more closely to their heritage and inspires people of all backgrounds to a greater appreciation for the diversity of the American Jewish experience and the freedoms to which all Americans aspire. The Museum collaborates with the Smithsonian to bring valuable artifacts to Philadelphia that illuminate the lives and contributions of American Jews. Visitors to the Museum can see Albert Einstein's pipe, a vial of Jonas Salk’s Polio vaccine, and a Gold Rush coin, among more than 1,000 objects from 1654 to the present.
