Affiliate Profile
The Museum Center at 5ive Points celebrates the history of the Ocoee Region in East Tennessee. Through archaeological finds and artifacts, its permanent exhibition traces the region's past from the arrivals of Early Woodland Indians and other groups, through pioneer settlements, the American Civil War, and industrial developments, to the region's involvement in the 1996 Olympics. As a Smithsonian affiliate, it has hosted "IndiVisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas" which looks at the lives and experiences of people who share African American and Native American ancestry. This exhibition was developed by the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES).
