The Museum and Center for Humanistic Studies at the Universidad del Turabo is devoted to the study and preservation of the cultural, historical, and artistic heritage of Puerto Rico. Exhibitions feature important artifacts from the Museum's collection, including pre-Columbian archeological objects from Punta Candelero, colonial art from Latin America, Puerto Rican posters and graphic arts, and folk art - including santos, musical instruments, artisans' tools, pottery, baskets and toys. The Museum collaborates with the Smithsonian in many ways. In particular, it co-sponsors an annual series of workshops on various topics of interest to Puerto Rican museum professionals, including education technology, collections care, museum management, and exhibition development.
