Lowell National Historical Park tells the story of one of the first industrial communities in the United States, and the nexus of New England's textile industry. The connection of labor, innovation, and capital in Lowell, Massachusetts, is part of the larger narrative of America's industrial revolution. Lowell's neighborhoods preserve the cultural heritage of the many ethnic groups, past and present, that immigrated to the city. Through public programs and interpretation on boats, trolleys, exhibitions, walking tours and more, the park provides insight into Lowell's vibrant past and future. The Park operates the Boott Cotton Mills Museum and the Tsongas Industrial History Center. The historical park partners with other local organizations to offer educational programs, concerts, exhibitions, and the annual Lowell Folk Festival.
