History Colorado, a historical society, works in communities throughout the state to make Colorado’s history accessible. Offering exhibitions and special programs, it is home to several museums statewide, including the Ute Indian Museum, Colorado Center for Women's History, Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center, El Pueblo History Museum, Trinidad History Museum, Healy House, Georgetown Loop Railroad, and its flagship History Colorado Center in downtown Denver. Through its collections and archives, museum of memory projects, archaeological work, and State Historic Fund grants, History Colorado stewards Colorado’s historic treasures. With resources that coauthor new historical knowledge, including publications, podcasts, educational materials, and services related to preservation and archaeology, the organization illuminates our shared past to inspire a brighter future.
