The Greensboro Historical Museum traces the local history of Greensboro and its role in the history of the United States. Galleries feature the drama of the American Revolution, Underground Railroad, modern civil rights movement, and First Lady Dolley Madison. Other subjects highlighted include 1900s Greensboro, Jugtown Pottery craft shop, American Civil War firearms, and vintage cars. The museum has shown exhibitions from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) and hosted speakers from and loaned artifacts to the National Portrait Gallery. In 2013-2014, the Museum participated in the Smithsonian’s Young Historians, Living Histories
