Affiliate Profile
The Ellen Noël Art Museum makes quality art accessible to the culturally diverse audience in Permian Basin and West Texas. The museum’s rotating exhibitions have a cross-cultural focus, while its growing permanent collection spotlights American Art from 1860 to the present. As a result of its status as a Smithsonian Affiliate, the museum is able to display loan paintings, drawings, photographs, and prints from museums such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. Two highlights currently on display are Upright Leaf Forms by Robert Adams and Sea Form by Dame Barbara Hepworth, both on loan from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
