Affiliate Profile
The DuSable Museum of African American History, located in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, promotes understanding and inspires appreciation of the achievements, contributions, and experiences of African Americans. The museum’s Masterworks Collection, debuted in February 2016, highlights the works of some of the greatest and most prolific African American artists, such as Henry Ossawa Tanner, William A. Harper, William Edouard Scott, and Archibald Motley, Jr. DuSable, a frequent host of Smithsonian traveling exhibitions, became a Smithsonian Affiliate in March 2016.
