The Booth Western Art Museum collects and displays contemporary Western art, Western movie posters, Civil War art, presidential portraits and letters, and original stagecoaches. Its permanent exhibition space features early Western artists such as George Catlin, Albert Bierstadt, Frederic Remington, Charles Russell, and others. Two George Catlin paintings are on loan from the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The Booth hosts an annual Southeastern Cowboy Festival and Symposium, which presents guest lecturers from the Smithsonian Institution.
