Hagley Museum and Library seeks to inspire all people to be innovative in their own lives through investigation and exploration of its historical collections, original DuPont powder yards, and online resources. Hagley occupies 235 acres on the Brandywine River, a National Historic Landmark site with examples of early American industry. Historic buildings, daily demonstrations, and self-guided tours in a beautiful, natural setting combine to create a unique indoor/outdoor museum experience. Hagley provides an incomparable opportunity to discover the power of innovation from a diverse group of people. Hagley interprets this rich legacy of American invention in a variety of ways, including its new Nation of Inventors exhibition with examples from its collection of more than 5,000 patent models from the 1800s.
