The Cosmosphere stimulates public interest in the exploration of space and supports science education. The facility includes a planetarium, exhibit galleries, classrooms for expanded school programs, and an IMAX® Dome Theater. The Hall of Space Museum features U.S. and Russian space artifacts, telling the comprehensive story of mankind’s race to space in a broad historical context. The exhibitions display one of the largest artifact loans from the National Air and Space Museum, including the flown Apollo 13 command module, Odyssey. The Cosmosphere became a Smithsonian Affiliate in 1998.
