The High Museum of Art is home to significant collections of African art, American art, decorative arts, European art, folk art, modern and contemporary art, and photography. The museum strives to engage and educate its regional, national, and international audiences while promoting scholarships through research and publication. Special exhibitions at the High feature strong global partnerships with other museums such as the Louvre. The Smithsonian has hosted several exhibitions from the High—most recently, the celebrated Talladega College Murals of African American artist Hale Woodruff, commemorating the Amistad slave revolt.
