The Upcountry History Museum-Furman University preserves and interprets historical objects pertaining to the Upcountry of South Carolina. Its wide-ranging programs include Lunchbox Learning, Family Fun Days, Homeschool Days, and the American History Book Club, engaging all age groups to learn about the history of this region. As a Smithsonian Affiliate, the museum hosted the Smithsonian traveling exhibition Searching for the Seventies: The DOCUMERICA Photography Project, which was on view in Greenville in 2015. The Museum received loans of Harry Truman’s political campaign items from the National Museum of American History and the National Portrait Gallery.
