The San Diego History Center tells the diverse story of its region and is dedicated to education and enrichment of San Diego. It comprises the Junípero Serra Museum, the Research Library and Document Archives, and the History Center itself. Exhibitions showcase remarkable stories of the community—from the San Diego tuna industry and the regional craft brew scene to the military history and impact of San Diego. Since 1992, the Center has hosted Smithsonian traveling exhibitions. Continuing this long relationship, it became a Smithsonian Affiliate in 2013.
