The Headley-Whitney Museum connects people to culture through the collection, interpretation and exhibition of the decorative arts -- furniture, metalwork, textiles and ceramics. The permanent collection includes jewelry and bibelots designed by artist George Headley, his jewelry specifications,18th and 19th century Chinese textiles and Rateau chairs as well as Chinese ceramics which range in date from the Neolithic, Tang, Song, Ming and Qing periods. Collections also include works by miniaturist Marylou Whitney.  The Museum was a major venue for the display of the Smithsonian's exhibition, Within the Emperor's Garden:  Ten Thousand Springs Pavilion.
