The Hubbard Museum of the American West is an outgrowth of Anne C. Stradling’s collection of horse artifacts. Passionate about horses and the Southwest, Stradling founded the Stradling Museum of the Horse in Tucson, Arizona, in the 1960s and later donated her collection of over 10,000 pieces to the Hubbard Museum, which opened in 2005. It has grown from its original collection, which comprises bits, spurs, bridles, and saddles from around the world; carriages, wagons, and other horse-drawn vehicles spanning hundreds of years; and art of the Old American West—including works by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell.
