Region: Southeast

Website: http://www.midamericamuseum.org

Description: Mid-America Science Museum is a premier tourism attraction whose mission is to stimulate interest in science, to promote public understanding of the sciences, and to encourage life-long science education through interactive exhibits and programs. Exhibits include the world’s largest conical Tesla Coil, a collection of Sir Rowland Emett machines, a giant indoor cave, a virtual reality simulator, laser shows, and over 100 hands-on exhibits. The 57,000 square foot facility, designed by E. Verner Johnson and Associates of Boston, Massachusetts, is divided into two wings connected by a glass-enclosed bridge that spans a stream with several waterfalls. It is located on 21 beautiful wooded acres near Hot Springs National Park.

Profile: The Museum has rented exhibits from SITES and looks forward to developing future exhibits around objects borrowed from the National Museum of Natural History and the National Museum of American History.
